Clarion West Write-a-thon
Be part of Clarion West this summer without attending the workshop
This is Clarion West’s ninth annual Write-a-thon. Workshop alumni and authors who've never attended, friends and spouses and readers who think supporting new writers is a good idea--all sorts of people can be part of Clarion West this summer by participating in the Write-a-thon. We're very glad we have the wide support that makes this an important event for everyone in our community.
Write, write, write!
Pick a writing goal: something that’s a little stretch; something that motivates you. Shadow the workshop from June 17 through July 27 and write, write, write! Write 15 minutes or 4 hours a day, 250 words a day, or maybe 8,000 words a week (we call that a “Swanwick”); revise a story or a chapter of your novel every week; complete a story, novella, or trilogy; submit three short stories to professional markets; or do something else completely different.
Remember to keep asking for support and pledges from friends and family — send them online to the Write-a-thon web page you’ll create, with the personal PayPal link we’ll add for you.

Your 2012 Write-a-thon page will be part of your user profile. If you've already registered as a user on the website, sign in as usual on the right side of the page, and click on the “My account” link below your name. You’ll see a page with your “Create a Write-a-thon Participant Page” link.
If you aren't a registered user yet, click the link that says "Create new account," and you'll be sent to the registration form.
Even if you’ve participated in the Write-a-thon in the past (thank you!), if you have never signed up with our Web site as a user, you’ll need to do that now. We want to get your new page up and running as quickly as possible, and making your Write-a-thon page part of your user profile will help us shorten the turnaround time.
Sponsor a Write-a-thon participant
To sponsor a writer, pick one from the list below. Support them in meeting their goals. Donate what suits your budget — $5/week, $10/week, $20/week — or just a flat amount for the six weeks. You can either use their page’s PayPal links or send checks to our office:

Donations to Clarion West are tax deductible in the U.S. Clarion West is a nonprofit educational organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code; our Federal EIN is 91-1352168. Check with your tax advisor for other tax jurisdictions. After you send us your donation you will receive a thank-you letter acknowledging your gift. You can use this letter as a receipt for tax purposes.
